Our Story

Our journey began with the love story of Marcus and Stephanie Howell. After dating through high school, Marcus joined the Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in southern California. He served overseas in Iraq for two nine-month tours as an Infantryman. Meanwhile, Stephanie stayed in the Tyler area, attending UT Tyler and Tyler Junior College, eventually graduating with her X-ray technologist degree.

On December 8th, 2012, the couple got married in Palestine, Texas, at Elmwood Gardens, surrounded by friends and family. Shortly after getting married, they moved to San Antonio, where Marcus pursued a job in the oil field. He worked as a shop foreman for a well-head company, spending his days repairing well heads and getting orders out to the field.

On August 24th, 2014, their precious baby girl, Presley Laine, was born. However, when the oil field took a downturn in the summer of 2015, the family of three decided it was time to pack up and move back home closer to family. During this move, the idea of Axe Moving was born.

Marcus and Stephanie realized that they could provide a better service than what they had come to expect when they hired movers to move them into their new homes. They set out to create a moving company that would employ highly vetted individuals, prioritize prompt and on-time service, and ensure clear communication with customers. When possible, they wanted to hire prior or current military men, and they decided that a uniform would always be worn.

Axe Moving opened its doors in late summer 2015 and has been serving the state of Texas ever since. Today, you can see Marcus, Stephanie, and sometimes even their daughter driving their "big blue truck" down the blacktop roads of East Texas, providing top-quality moving services to their customers.
