Our Story

Hollow Tree Self Storage was born from the vision of four local Darien entrepreneurs: Robert Wood, Tim Wood, John Hertz, and Paul Hertz. These partners, who had been deeply involved in the self-storage industry since 1990 through their ownership of Affordable Storage in Norwalk, recognized a growing need for quality storage solutions in their own community. Driven by a desire to serve the Darien community, they identified an ideal location, strategically situated near vital transportation routes, and made the bold decision to embark on a new venture.

They set out to create more than just another storage facility; their goal was to build a storage center that was seamlessly integrated into the fabric of Darien life. This vision materialized in the development of Hollow Tree Self Storage, a modern, state-of-the-art facility designed with the community's needs at its core.
