Our roots date back to World War I when our founder, Eugene (EP) P. Sacco Sr., realized the potential of the freight industry with the advent of gas engines and trucks.

EP started his business by hauling limestone block into New York City for construction projects in lower Manhattan. Soon, he purchased a Packard with a 15-foot body and began concentrating on household and industrial moving. His trips took him to Boston and Cape Cod, demonstrating his commitment to providing top-notch service no matter the distance.

In 1924, EP hired his first employee, marking the beginning of our growth as a company. As the business expanded, so did our capabilities. EP's son, Gene (Bud), joined the family business after serving in Europe with the Army Air Corps during World War II. Together, they upgraded their fleet and expanded their service area, earning Chatham Moving & Storage a reputation as one of New Jersey's top moving and storage companies.

In the 1980s, EP's four grandsons took over the reins of the business. They focused on residential moving and household storage, upgrading the company's vehicles and storage capabilities by building two state-of-the-art, climate-controlled warehouses. Today, Chatham Moving & Storage remains one of New Jersey's most recommended companies, proving that our commitment to hard work, honesty, and customer service has not wavered.
