Company History
Our journey began in 1946 when Joseph Smoot established Smoot Brothers Transfer, a moving company that provided local, long distance, and international moving services. In 1952, Joseph Smoot launched Guardian Moving and Storage, which became one of the first local Baltimore moving companies. We specialized in providing long-term storage solutions for the Department of Defense. In 1976, the Smoot brothers took over the day-to-day operations of the company, leading it to become the largest contractor for the Department of Defense. Today, we continue to build on this legacy, offering a range of services that cater to our customers' needs.
